arrrgghhh...i'm so brain dead and my feet are killing me and my future is uncertain and i have to teach...deep breath. so let's start with yesterday (monday). i met my dad's friend and talked over a few things for awhile...the importance of learning the grammar to properly learn a foreign language...how dangerous seoul can be...i can be stolen away by a taxi driver, raped and killed, everyone...how i could teach a class on saturdays in biology...umm, okay, i think i could do that...and how i should start off by teaching an introductory english conversation class in half an hour...what??

needless to say, i was a bit overwhelmed, but hey, i'm game. i'm led to a room with a couple of girls already sitting down and am left there. yeah, my brain is working fast and the whole being put on the spot and having to talk in front of a group all lead to my body temperature shooting way up. so i'm sweating and desperately thinking of things i can ask and try to draw out some conversation from this small group of girls (all girls so far) and cursing the fact that i had no paper to write on or anything to write with in order to actually record who these girls are and make some initial impression notes on their english conversation skill levels. bah. about twenty minutes later a couple more kids walk in...yay a boy to balance out the 6 girls...and so i go through some more "what's your name and how old are you" sort of questions before it's finally the final ten minutes until the end of my improv hour. oh, dear me, i have to come up with some kind of homework, don't i? crapcrapcrap. i end up telling them to come up with a short story about 5 minutes long (giving them suggestions such as an exciting event in their life, a scary moment, etc.) for us to share in the next class. i really hope they all understood me. i've got, i think, two girls who have pretty good english comprehension and one girl is very outgoing. thank goodness. we'll see tomorrow if this story thing pans out. i've got a better idea of what i'll do for the next class, though. i think.

anyhoo, i need to stop rambling...i'm stressing about my lesson plan for the week that i didn't know i had to have and now i'm trying to crash course myself in english conversation activities. AND tomorrow i get to start on my lesson plan for the biology class on saturday. biology. yeah, i need to refresh. i'm a student all over again with the added pressure of teaching the stuff in my head. i think i'm going to get a grammar class thrown at me next. yikes.

i hope i don't keel over. my feet hurt, did i mention that? and now it's kinda late but i need to go back over what i'm planning on doing in class tomorrow and not worry overmuch about whether i can successfully go to a korean bank and figure out my finances since i have very little korean money left and all my money is in a checking account in the US. ugh.

i did get a cell phone today. or hand phone as they like to call it here. i need to figure out how to pay my aunt and uncle back for it. and i'm worried about where i'm going to live. lovely.

things are crazy, kiddoes!
